The River Darent rises near Westerham on the A25, flowing East and then North, through Otford and join the Thames at Dartford.
The Darent Valley path follows the River for much of its journey although, at present, the stretch from Westerham to Sevenoaks is incomplete. One of the objectives of the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme is to complete the path. The path through Otford is waymarked (SR17)
In total, the route from Sevenoaks to Dartford is 31km (19 miles) in length. A resolute walker should allow 8-10 hours for the walk (excluding stops for refreshment)
